Chaos raged through the streets of London during the week as police fought to bring mindless yobs under control.
In a story that dominated the media landscape on both sides of the Irish Sea, London was transformed into a warzone as terror reigned down on the English capital. Violence also spread to other cities including Birmingham, Liverpool and Bristol.
Reports surfaced throughout the ordeal of mindless acts that included a teenager being forced to strip down on the street and hand over all his clothes, while another story of a young Asian student hit the headlines after he was helped to his feet after being attacked only for another looter to unzip his backpack and take his belongings.
With calm somewhat restored for the time being, further disorder may be triggered this weekend with the arrival of Pembroke’s very own Claire who touches down Friday Evening… They’ve been warned!!!!
On a brighter note, the Irish Daily Mirror reported on Wednesday about the rescue of a baby humpback whale that became stranded on Australia’s Gold Coast.
Rescuers battled for 15 hours to help the week old mammal who was washed ashore overnight. The drama didn’t end there however as the whale then became entangled in shark nets when being shepherded out to sea.
Now free, the baby whale faces a race against time to be reunited with his mother as he cannot survive long without her. A bit like a few of the lads around here…
