RTÉ Player pauses for tea break

Isn’t it strange that advertisements can almost tell what you’re thinking? Every evening, I like to catch up with the daily soaps, my favourite being Eastenders. RTÉ player is the most convenient place for me to keep up to date with the comings and goings of the East End, so it has become my first port of call for catch-up television. Dublin goes Digital for a day!

As I was walking into work this morning I felt my phone buzz in my pocket. A text so early? Surely not. Páidí Ó Sé’s Legacy Lives On

A total of forty-eight teams from seven countries competed in this year’s Páidí Ó Sé tournament, the biggest ever. I was proud to be part of one of the competing ladies Gaelic football senior teams. I play for Foxrock-Cabinteely and it was our second year attending Páidí’s renowned tournament. Páidí Ó Sé is a Kerry legend and this tournament represents him and all he stood for very well. 3 Mobile Encourages Silly Stuff

It’s not often that you see one multi million euro company challenging another with precarious statements and getting away with it. However, Three have managed to break the mould with their new Irish advertising campaign aimed at converting consumers to the network. On first look, the advertisements boldly state that the competitor company O2 ‘eats kittens’ and Vodafone ‘kicks pigeons’. Reading this when you’re stopped for 30 seconds at a bus stop is definitely enough to ignite your curiosity, whilst bringing a smile to your face. ABC’s and the death of newspapers…

Like the pages in a book the world keeps turning but newspaper pages will one day cease to turn if the latest ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulation) figures on newspaper circulation in Ireland are anything to go by. The ABC’s show that the Irish Examiner has 39,555 copies, the Irish Times 88,356 and the Irish Independent 123,981. So the obvious conclusion is that newspapers will one day stop. Or is it? There is increasing evidence that trust in online information continues to plummet. Only 40% of people trust the information they get online – the figure in 2000 was 55%

They were the forgotten women of Ireland but their stories have been well-documented throughout history. To say that the findings of the McAleese report came as a surprise to the State simply rings untrue, and it is this hesitation and reluctance to take responsibility that has incensed the nation. Is Trapattoni a ‘clown’ at Harte?
