Video of the Day: Cheesy or Fantastic?

Many of us have seen the video of McFly’s Tom Fletcher making his wedding speech. In fact over 5 million of us have seen it so far. His speech hasn’t been a huge viral hit because it was your average speech or even because it was given by a B list celebrity. It became so popular because it was original. I can only imagine that the majority of those viewers on YouTube are woman either A)fantasising that their future husband will come up with something similar or B) momentarily hating their husband for not coming up with something equally as

The 10 most popular ads among YouTube UK users

YouTube has compiled the most popular ads of 2012 among UK users.  The top two were for car manufacturers and it is great to see that even  in a depressed car market, many brands including Honda have continued to be extremely  creative . To be honest there are a few ads in the list that I didn’t see the appeal of as they weren’t funny, imaginative or creative. My personal favourite? Number 10. It stood out when it first appeared and I still love the way the channel got their message across in such a clever way. 1. Honda Civic

Social Media. Right Here. Right Now. And Here to Stay

Looking for inspiring, jaw dropping facts, figures and insights into social media? The following video was produced using stats from Socialnomics by Erik Qualman. The impact social media channels has made on the world in such a short space of time is truly remarkable. What caught my eye, and should for any brand or business, was the figures 2.22 seconds into the video regarding what people trust and don’t trust.  More so because I wrote about the subject a short while ago. Blatant self promotion side it makes for fascinating viewing. Paws for Thought

Students have a great life – well for about 70% of the year anyway but then it comes to exam time and they have to catch up on an entire semester armed with nothing but incoherent notes, coffee and red bull. Combine that with a lack of sleep and it’s pretty easy to see how blood pressure can rise and stress can take over. One university in Canada is trying to help their students fight the strain this Christmas and are introducing a puppy room on December 4th, 5th and 6th for tense students. The announcement from Dalhousie University on

Ghost in the Elevator! Hilarious or Scary?

What would you do if while you were riding an elevator, the lights flickered off and when they came back on, there was a strange, ghostly little girl clutching a baby doll staring at you and screaming at the top of her lungs? In this clip called “Ghost in the Elevator,” you can see the reactions of some unsuspecting people. I must say the reactions are priceless. Several people attempt to not look at her or just ignore the girl, perhaps hoping she’ll disappear. Others visibly recoil and make their way toward the far corners away from the little girl.

Anders Behring Breivik: New CCTV Footage of Oslo Van Bomb

Chilling video footage of right-wing extremist Anders Behring Breivik’s parking his van at the foot of a building tower that housed the prime minister’s office in Oslo on 22nd July 2011 was released by Norway’s public prosecutor for the first time yesterday. The footage shows Breivik walking briskly away from the van containing his homemade bomb, which weighed nearly a tonne, dressed as a security guard. Minutes later, his fertiliser bomb explodes leaving eight people dead. The video is part of a documentary that broadcaster NKR aired on Tuesday evening and shows the extend of the damage caused by the

Video of the Day: Caught on Camera

We are always told security cameras are there to protect us and to record any wrong doing. The vast majority of the time they just record the mundane. However sometimes they capture moments of human interaction that just make you smile.

The Journey!

It’s perhaps a little too early for Christmas ads but when I came across this one it would have been rude not to share! The new John Lewis Christmas TV ad celebrates the extra mile we all go to at Christmas to find the perfect gift. Ok, yes you’re watching a snowman’s journey but while you travel with him and listen to the stunning music you’re sure to be touched by it. The ad is called ‘The Journey’, it opens in a family’s snow-covered garden, with children making a snowman and snowwoman. When the snowman has mysteriously disappeared the next

Video of the Day: Destination Middle Earth

Probably one of the biggest bugbears for airline crews the world over must be a passenger’s inability to pay attention during the safety demonstration. I know that I am guilty of this and let’s face it in the case of an emergency I am going to wish I had torn myself away from Grazia long enough to find out where my life jacket is stored. So when I came across this video by Air New Zealand this week, I thought it was a perfect example of how to make airline safety interesting, while also promoting New Zealand as a
