One to watch: Little Green Cars

An Irish band to watch out for in 2013 is Little Green Cars. The band is made up of five immensely talented people, Stevie Appleby (vocals and guitar), Adam O’Regan (vocals and lead guitar) Donagh Seaver O’Leary (bass guitar), Dylan Lynch (drums) and Faye O’Rourke (vocals and guitar) Their sound ranges from early REM to Woody Guthrie and they have been described as an Irish country-rock band. I just can’t get you out of my head

As someone who is partial to a verse of Las Vegas in the Hills of Donegal after a Football Special or two, the latest song sweeping the hills is sure to be making its way onto to the Pembroke Towers Christmas party play list. Already a massive hit on You Tube with over 210,000 views, this is one you are going to hear time and time again between now and September 23rd. Be warned though, once you hear it once you won’t stop singing it!

Song of the Week – Superstition!

Song of the Week

Last week’s ‘Song of the Week’ received plenty of criticism around Pembroke Towers. Although the female contingent were more than happy with the choice – Rihanna’s Greatest Hits – the lads were, lets say, lessed than impressed. So much so that an EGM was called amongst its committee members! After a few stern words were dished out we decided to change the structure and allow one person to decide the theme and songs in order to mix it up. Song of the Week – Rihanna

In honour of Rihanna’s visit to Dublin, we paid tribute to her in this week’s Song of the Week. There was a vast choice so in the end we split the songs in two categories; Rihanna, The Early Years (i.e. when she wasn’t stripping off in fields in Co. Down) and Recent Hits. After a lot of discussion (somewhat heated in places) the final tally of votes threw up the pop classic “Don’t Stop The Music” and current chart-topper “We Found Love”. Happy Friday everyone!
