Pic of the Day – Goatee the surfing goat!

Pictured in today’s Irish Sun is what may surprise a lot of people, a surfing goat called Goatee.   The two year old goat is a real water baby and loves nothing more than donning her special life-jacket to catch a few waves.  Speaking of Goatee’s first seaside trip, Dayna McGregor of Pismo, California, said: ‘She did pretty well; she got up on a couple of waves. I say got up – we put her on a couple.’ Online videos of Goatee, who may have been inspired by the Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds album, are now an internet hit.

I don’t feel I drove the ball particularly well, I think it’s just because your first competitive round of the season, card in your hand, you can get a little bit tentative or a

Pic of the Day – The skies are alive!

Pictured in possibly every national paper today are fabulous pictures of nature putting on one of its most awe-inspiring shows over north Donegal with a rare glimpse of the Aurora Borealis, better known as the Northern Lights. The stunning display was seen by thousands of people and captured on camera along the north Donegal coast on Sunday night and yesterday morning. This picture was taken by Adam Porter, Chairman of the Buncrana Camera Club during a parting of the clouds on Sunday night when the rain stayed away just long enough to give him a chance to take the images.  The

Pic of the Day – Fancy a Flutter?

Pictured in today’s Irish Examiner are a variety of men waiting for their horses to come in. These four interesting race goers stand studying the form at Thurles Racecourse. Co. Tipperary, yesterday.   I’m not much of a one for horse racing but if I wanted to learn a thing or two I’m sure these lads could teach me a thing or two! Paula.

Pic of the Day – Boyz and their toys

Pictured in today’s Metro Herald is Shane Lynch with a collection of car toys.   This isn’t generally a sight that you could see but Boyzone’s Shane had a purpose and was at the Topaz garage in Glasnevin to launch the company’s new efficient driving campaign.  The Petrol station chain claims its AA quality approved fuels contain a unique additive that makes them 3% more efficient. Let’s hope Shane doesn’t take a trip up the motorway in one of these cars because I wouldn’t imagine he would get too far. Picture; Maxwells
