Exporting Success…. I’ll drink to that

Today’s report from Bord Bia shows the value of our food and drink exports in 2012 surpassed €9 billion for the first time. This is a fantastic success story in the midst of a global recession especially when you take into account our chief trading partners – UK, the US and Europe. Beverage exports are up €37million on the previous year a 3% increase on 2011 and as a category it is worth €1.26bn a year.  In the alcohol drinks industry Irish whiskey has huge potential.  In the US the Irish whiskey category is growing at double digit rates annually

London’s Calling: Irish Independent Paralympic Supplement

Sharp Sponsorship a MUST

Fans pressure group Manchester United Supporters Trust (MUST) has agreed a deal with Sharp – the electronics company that sponsored Manchester United from 1982 to 2000 – to sponsor the latest alternative team shirt. The group, which is campaigning to force a change of ownership of the Man Utd, said it is looking for a portfolio of alternative partners keen to align themselves with fans rather than the club’s owner, the Glazer family.
