Today’s report from Bord Bia shows the value of our food and drink exports in 2012 surpassed €9 billion for the first time. This is a fantastic success story in the midst of a global recession especially when you take into account our chief trading partners – UK, the US and Europe. Beverage exports are up €37million on the previous year a 3% increase on 2011 and as a category it is worth €1.26bn a year. In the alcohol drinks industry Irish whiskey has huge potential.
