A look to the future . . . what major trend do you predict for the next 10 years –
Two things, firstly, product placement is going to grow in importance and relevance over the next few years. With personal video recorder penetration growing daily, people are more and more likely to zip through ads. Product placement has just begun in Ireland but it will take off in a big way.
Secondly highly personalised & targeted marketing is going to continue to grow – we’ve already seen it through the likes of Google and Amazon, but this is going to reach a level where pretty much every ad you are exposed to will be relevant to you personally. Think Minority Report and the billboards that play ads based on the person walking by, we’re not that far away from it.
