Song of the week. If there is one thing that we love in this country and at the same time see very little of, it is the Sun. Today’s Sports Picture of the Day is from last nights Europa League clash between Shamrock Rovers and Tottenham Hotspurs at White Hart Lane. Rovers took a shock 1-0 lead through Stephen Rice’s 50th minute goal, however the Premier League outfit ended up running out 3-1 winners. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp paid tribute to the travelling team and their supporters saying, “Credit to Shamrock Rovers. When they scored we were in trouble. Look at their fans out there, they’re magnificent.”

Sports Pic of the Day

Today’s Sports Picture of the Day comes courtesy of the Irish Daily Mirror. Last night saw Carlos Tevez go on strike and refuse to go onto the pitch in a crucial Champions League Group games with Bayern Munich. It is the latest in a string of high profile bust-ups between The Argentinean and the Manchester City boss, Roberto Mancini. The Italian has vowed never to play Tevez again, “But if we want to improve as a team Carlos can’t play with us. With me, he is finished”.

Tabloid Tales

It’s a dog’s life The term ‘it’s a dog’s life’ was given a new twist this week in Co. Clare, as detailed in Monday’s Irish Daily Mirror, when Mark Flynn and his dog Jessie went surfing in Lahinch in aid of the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind. The pair were a number of man and dog combos to compete in the event which was organised by My Pet Review and Lahinch Surf School. As the day went on and the waves got bigger it turned into a complete Doggie Paddle… The Forest Boy On Tuesday, The Star, showed pictures

Sports Pic of the Day

Last Sunday will live in the memory for many Dubs, young and old, but none more so than Stephen Molloy from Summerhill who somehow managed to get onto the pitch after the final whistle. Molly (27) was the only fan to be involved in the celebrations and evaded to attention of all the stewards. In what is a remarkable story, Steven was involved in all the team photographs and even did a lap of honour with the team holding Sam Maguire up to the Hill.
