Pic of the Day – Beach Buddies

Pictured in today’s Irish Examiner are three beach buddies.  Neasa Keevers, aged 7, Tony Quirke, aged 3, and Rachel Flavin, aged 8, are pictured on the beach in Ardmore, Co. Waterford.  These three beach buddies were on hand at the launch of the fifth annual Ardmore Pattern Festival which takes place from July 18 to 24.  The tradition of the ’Pattern’ of St. Declan, patron saint of Ardmore, goes back hundreds of years. I Will Arise and Go to Sligo…

Wednesday’s, Irish Times special report on Sligo encompassed all the good things that Sligo has to offer. Splashed across the front cover is Benbulben Mountain, one of Sligo’s main focal points and tourist attractions. Sports Pic of the Day – One Man and his Dog

Fulham booked their passage into the second qualifying round of the Europa league last night with a 3-0 victory on aggregate over NSI Runavik of the Faroe Islands. As our picture shows, the Premiership outfit didn’t have to endure too much abuse from the home crowd as the match was played in front of 1000 spectators… and one dog!!!

Why don’t men wear skirts?

  Whilst reading the Irish Independent an article relating to Jean-Paul Gaultier’s latest collection caught my eye. Firstly, because his outfits as always were outlandish, fun and always remind me of the movie “The Fifth Element”. And secondly and probably more importantly because it made reference to his attempts in the 80’s to make it acceptable for men to wear skirts. Since there is a distinct lack of hairy legs on the streets today we can all safely assume that his attempts failed, but in this liberal age of metro-sexuality and “mankinis”, is now the time to attempt once again

How far would you go for the man in your life?

Does anyone out there ever question how far you would go for the love of your life? A woman in Mexico was caught trying to sneak her husband out of a Mexican prison following a conjugal visit… in her suitcase!  Staff at the prision in Chetumal, Mexico said they noticed that 19 year old Maria del Mar Arjona was acting nervously as she attempted to drag a black, wheeled suitcase out of the facility following her visit to the prison.  When guards stopped her and opened her bag, they found inmate Juan Ramirez Tijerina looking a little squashed.  Ramirez was
